It’s taken me some time, and a few mistakes along the way, to figure out the best way to package a painting for shipping. However since finding this simple system I’ve never had any artwork get damaged!
RESOURCES MENTIONED IN THIS VLOG:
Duty-free shipping form when shipping across the Canada/US border
Here are 5 simple steps to package your painting safely for shipping:
- Wrap it in plain paper (never wrapping paper)
- Wrap it in bubble wrap
- Create a first box snugly around the paintings
- Place spacers around the first box
- Create a second box at least an inch wider than the first one
With this system even if the first box get punctured, which sometimes happens, it never makes it into the second box! This method has always worked for me and I’ve never had anything damaged in shipping!
